lookalike competitions. as if studios pumping out sequels, prequels, and reboots like their lives depend on it was not bad enough, now every one with access to microsoft paint is hosting a looklike competition. the timothee chalamet and glenjamin powell ones were simply pure innocent fun. but BOQ? one is bad enough. let’s leave these all in 2024. please. the last thing we need is more random men with brand deals and a ring light!
goodbye goodbye vanderpump rules. you were bigger than the whole sky. you were more than just a short time… post-scandoval fans blame one or both toms for bravo finally pulling the plug and announcing season 12 would start with an entirely new cast, but longtime fans know the show has been living on borrowed time for a very long time and scandoval only prolonged the inevitable. i was a teenager when the show began and it feels like we were girls together in the back alley behind sur. all jokes aside, this show truly is a monument in episodic reality television and the earliest seasons go bar for bar with tony soprano for making appointment television. it will be very interesting to see if any former cast members try to cozy up to the valley. at the very least, big ups to cody ko’s bestie for making cameo so we can have gems like this to tide up through this tough time:
press tours. who are these for. it ends with us and wicked both had insane press tour runs. who is it for?? i was watching way more clips from the former and i still have no intention of ever watching that movie, especially now! this is just a personal complaint! i think they are outdated and i think we have all outgrown the need to see casts of movie play with puppies or spend hours and days being asked the same questions! perhaps, instead, we put that budget into gaffers and intimacy coordinators!!! just a thought!
gypsy rose. someone tweeted ages ago that the downfall of ellen has damaged the internet ecosystem. had ellen not been a waking nightmare of a boss would we have gypsy’s prison husband on live as much as david dobrik’s old emotional support elderly man? would we know the d is fire? would she have had a collab meetup at sur? it’s all so darksided!!!! she was a victim of such grotesque abuse and then served time for HER MOTHER’S MURDER. true crime has always made me uncomfortable and having gypsy get tv shows and book deals and an inevitable run on dancing with the stars feels like a subsect of that. wish her and her new baby and man the best but if i never hear from her again, i am more than okay with that!

album: there is so much music that dropped this year that truly took my breath (and streams) away and no clairo shade but i kept coming back to role model’s kansas anymore. maybe it is the yearner in me that makes game recognise game but truly such a nice and breezy listen that i will be revisiting for many years to come. something, somehow, someday and superglue??? ok tucker!!! we see each other!

tv show: laid (on peacock). there is so much stunt casting these days and a militia of streaming services churning out Content that we have forgotten what a true TALENT looks like and stephanie hsu is more than happy to remind us all. triple threat does not begin to cover it. and MY man michael angarano is allergic to not being a scene stealer. eight episodes of pure fun!
