Welp, now that he can somewhat control Alma at times, it makes sense why they let him take on a first mission after so long. But, yeah, as expected, backup had to arrive. But in the end, Hikaru and Alma FUCKED SHIT THE HELL UP. And yeah, Aki's taking a liking to him very much now. So much that even the people at school think they already dating because she legit TOOK HIM TO SCHOOL IN HER ARMS LMAOOOOOOO.

Who woulda thunk that out of everyone to transfer, and be rich apparently, it'd be neon green hair dude. Never seen Alma this desperate though lmao. It'd make sense though, he knows what's up with Alma in the past, hell it was his OWN family in the past that owned him. Wo woulda also thunk that it'd be the person who made the city what it is today. A true living legend. Makes more sense why a lot of people want it now.

But yeah, they finally got a lead of the worm type mecha-ude Aki's been trying to find, hell she made contact with her and now on the move. And yeah, whole thing with Alma's past... this just makes me think more about how this won't have a happy ending... will it.

THAT TWIST AT THE END HOLY SHIT. Already loved this series just from the Sawano/Yamamoto involvement and the fact it’s a proper labor of love, but the story really took a big step forward today and it looks like that’s going to be just as big an emphasis as the action and production values!

Two mecha arm users at school was already wild, now we got 3 with Jun and dude honestly seems like a decent fella. He and Aki at each others’ throats all episode was pure comedy. Note to self, if you want to get Aki to chill out just bribe her with a Yakiniku buffet 😂

But man that last 6-7 minutes was crazy. RIP Tani?? They said they could save him but he appeared to flatline at the end? Also rip to his mech arm, our first deaths in the show, this isn’t just gonna be all sunshine and rainbows there’s actual stakes here. We finally know where the mech arms come from and what they were trying to do, but so if they sealed ordela, I’m guessing the bad guys want to unseal it for its power?

AND OMG AKI SISTER IS THE WORM USER?!! I guess in hindsight that shouldn’t have been too surprising with how the ep started with a flashback, but still, damn! I can’t wait for next ep now

The episode seemed rather chill and laid-back for most of the runtime with cute moments with Aki and Hikaru and Kagami also joined his school to take Alma back with him. Misunderstandings and some funny moments which were cute to see. But, it turned into a dark episode by the end with our friends getting injured and friendly Mecha-Ude dying.

There are still quite a lot of mysteries surrounding Alma, and what's his purpose? He wants to know himself. Also, as I thought initially, the Worm Type Mecha-Ude wielder is none other than Aki's little sister, whom she's been looking for revenge all this time. Animation was as good as ever, and things are definitely getting interesting.

I know this show is as cliched as it gets, but it's been so long since we've had a something like this that it kinda feels refreshing and reassuring lol

This was quite the episode.
I feel sorry for Hikaru, having to deal with both Aki & Jun at school.
I have a feeling this girl is Aki's sister, they gave plenty of hints last episode.
Now it just depends whether she took out their family or is a rogue looking for the real killer.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

Finally Aki's window-entry scene from the OP, that was great. And the soundtrack accompanying Aki's entry was 🤌, had to rewatch that like 5 times lol.

I do want to see what the original mecha-ude civilization looks like tho. A society full of walking cyclops arms and legs is pretty wild to think about.

Could be very wrong about this, but from that lore drop it might be that ARMS wants to unseal it to restore the Mecha-ude's original world and return home, but the bad guys want to keep it sealed so they can keep controlling the Mecha-ude however they want.

Wow, the plot progression and the worldbuilding are fast in this one. I like that.
Usually anime original projects like that are out of steam at their fourth episode, but the one here isn't. This means there were a lot of ideas and planning invested.

Here I was loving the character interactions, then boom Mecha-Ude murder, fuck. I thought it was going to be a chill episode, but on top of Kelex dying, there's Aki's sister and big lore drops.

I hope Jun becomes an ally, he can keep his snarky attitude. The Hikaru, Aki and Jun trio is hilarious, then there's Meru as well lmao.

Hmm, doesn't Hikaru look a little like Yakumo?

I am starting to lose interest in Mecha-ude. The animation is good, the world build is interesting. But the plot progression is becoming entirely too predictable.

I'm not sure whether this episode went by too fast or not but it was incredibly packed regardless. Coming from an operation to retrieve some Mecha-udes with the help of thefrog dude we then got some more Aki and Hikaru interactions where she's completely oblivious to everyone around them specially Meru and then they meet Jun who's advancements to know about Hikaru are perceived by Meru as a way to gain his love. She even strapped him and put him a bow (really?).

In any case, the second part of the episode was dedicated to show how important Alma is in the general lore. Turns out Mecha-udes come from a different dimension (should have guessed by the opening song I guess) and in their pursuit for their element they got to meet the founder of the Kagami corporation and after the accident everything went downhill. Oh and Aki's lost sister seems to be working for them now and was involved in the disappearance of her family as she basically killed the frog dude...

You're telling me that with all of this this show is still not grabbing people's attention?
